Personal Portrait/Collage
In this assignment, I took an image of my, and changed some features on me. I changed my eye color to blue, darkened my hair, changed my shirt color, and made myself look tanner. When I got finished with that, I found a pattern, and images of a baseball field and a bat and combined it with myself to make a collage. The word dedication describes my personality, which I use in these projects.
Chimera
The purpose of this project was to learn how to take different parts of an animal and merge them together. I took a horse, a shark, and a tiger to combine together into one. What I found most difficult about this project was trying to find the right image size and color to make them match. But I enjoyed this project because it was fun and allowed me to be creative.
What is Different?
In this assignment, we were to take an image of something, and modify it using photoshop to make distinct changes of the new one. When side by side next to eachother, you should be able to tell what was changed. I used a variety of techniques and tools to make these changes. One of the hardest parts of this assignment was not to overuse the same tool to make the same changes, and find new ways to modify. But it was fun to see how you could turn it into a challenge for people to figure out what was different. The changes I made are described Below...
- Color change in the water by selecting the water and using a curves adjustment layer to make the water darker.
- Made a selection of the end of the paddles and made them lighter like the sun was shining on them by using a levels adjustment layer.
- Added mountains at the top on the left side by using the clone tool to add on to the mountains.
- I selected the man and created a hue/saturation layer and adjusted the saturation to make the man look less sunburnt.
- I selected the trees and used a curves adjustment layer to make the trees look darker.
- I found a picture of a buoy and selected it, and brought it in and placed it in the water in the back.
- Made a selection of the S logo on his life jacket and used the black/white adjustment layer to make the logo more white.
- I used the brightness/contrast adjustment layer to make the lenses on the sunglasses look darker.
- I extend the distant trees going up the mountain using the clone tool so I could hide some of the snow on the mountain.
- I selected the sky and then used a color balance adjustment layer to make the sky look a little brighter and added some colors.
Environmental Poster
My environmental poster was a call to the issue of ocean pollution and the plastic in the ocean. In my poster I took a bright picture of the ocean, added a garbage patch, and an animal with a plastic bag on its fin to address the issue. I darkened the ocean to make it look like its been polluted then put a recycling bin with plastic by it, and fish coming out of it to show that we are 'recycling' the fish and not the plastic, which is why we need to revive the ocean shown with the parachute. To emphasize this, I brightened the bin for a focal point. In the corner is an institutes logo and a QR code leading to the donation page of that website.
